Abstract : This paper outlines the Concrete in Australia Recommended Practice Z7/04 ‘Good practice through design, concrete supply and construction’. It is one in a series of seven documents in the CIA’s durability series. The principle chapters cover how contracts impact durability specifications, detailing, pre-pour planning, quality management, concrete materials, concrete supply, reinforcement, placing, finishing and curing, insitu cast concrete, precast concrete and sprayed concrete. The paper includes summaries of most sections of Z7/04 focusing on a few more interesting aspects.
