Abstract : Civil constructions are labour intensive and demand skilled labour of multifarious trades. Skilled labour is in great demand in construction sector and the demand far exceeds the supply. To bridge the gap and keep pace with the ever increasing demand of civil construction keeping in view economic targets of the country; it is pertinent to train man power with multifarious trades and also make use of modern construction tools to achieve both quality and time schedules. An attempt has been made in the paper to address this burning issue of the construction industry. Another important factor is the creation of safe working environment for the labour force by making use of modern technologies. To minimize time overruns and optimize cost; construction technologies with skilled operations are the right solutions. Government policies need to be directed towards these goals. Involvement of private sector in this endeavour shall be an added boon.
