Abstract : Infrastructural facilities form the backbone of any economy. Bridges form an important part of the transportation facilities. Segmental bridges have evolved from a bridge type to rebuild Europe, post World War II to a proven technology delivering efficient and durable structures that are both economical to build and aesthetically pleasing. They offer answer to many challenging construction situations making it a widely used technique today. Its versatile applications range from highway structures to rail structures and even movable structures. Segmental bridge construction technology is one of the significant advances in bridge technology and represents one of its forefronts.
