Abstract : Strengthening and rehabilitation of concrete structural members are carried out by polymer impregnation, replacing the damaged concrete by epoxy concrete or wrapping externally bonded FRP to the existing structural member due to high strength, light weight, durability, cost effectiveness and ease of application. When used in buildings or industrial structures, performance of the above materials due to high temperature exposures remains a major concern. The above mentioned strengthening and rehabilitation measures when adopted require protection measures against exposure to high temperatures for fulfilling the codal requirements of thermal resistance. The study reported here suggests a few protective measures together with their temperature transmission through the protective composites
