Abstract : Emission from building floor materials and adhesives were measured by means of a test chamber and a Field and Laboratory Emission Cell ?FLEC?. The emission from carpet, PVC,Linoleum, and Rubber type floor covering were tested in 0.02 m3 emission chamber test. The four different type of adhesives (type -1,2,3,4) were tested with the Field and emission cell over a time period of 1 day, 10 days and 28 days. Considering the impact of humidity and temperature, those two factors keep constant with the temperature taken as 23° and relative humidity of 50%. All experimental values were compared with Finnish standard value where TVOC, ammonia and aldehydes SER were mentioned respectively as 200, 30, 50 ?g/m2.h for M1 classified materials [FiSIAQ, 2001]. The paper shows that different materials emitted pollutants in indoor air and finds out the reason for corresponding emission. Key Words Floor materials, Adhesives, Surface emission rate (SERx), VOCs, Ammonia .
